Roque Nublo


“Worshiped moonrock, in your shadow I have born, in your shadow I want to live” – those words, dedicated to Roque Nublo in a anthem of the island.

A huge 80 metres high rock, is a pride of Gran Canaria. In the height of 1,803 metres this volcanic monolith captures the attention from far away. For the hiking lovers it is a nice place to have a good walk, as well as for any kind of visitors.


The access is very easy – only 30 minute walk up from the nearest parking place to see the peak and all its surroundings. A breathtaking view – you can see the island from above, the city, the ocean. If you are lucky, in a sunny day you might see the highest peak in the Canary islands, and third highest volcano in the world – Teide in Tenerife.


It is one of the biggest rocks in the world! The name means The Rock in The Clouds, meaning that it is so high that reaches the clouds!



In a map you can see two ways of going to Roque Nublo.

From north – Las Palmas to Roque Nublo, or from south – Maspalomas to Roque Nublo.
